Arnav was in deep space just lost in his own thoughts, he couldn't be bothered about the hustle bustle and commotion that was around him, in the photo shoot for the Ad, the only thing occupying his mind was that girl, how could she take over his whole concentration, how he wondered, what was so special about her, he was trying to find answers when a hand placed itself on his shoulder, he came out of the trance when he saw akash, his younger brother
Akash: bhai
Arnav looked at him,
Akash: bhai all ok, you seem lost
Arnav: uh.. akash, I am fine, don't worry
Akash: (nodded his head and then took the pantone book in his hand and opened to page 47, and placed it in front of arnav) bhai, these are the shades of blue, that the buyer has asked for, he said we should pair tan brown with any on these colors, which do you think works (he looked up to again find arnav spaced out) bhai' (he said louder)
Arnav: (snapped out on hearing him) sorry akash, what was it
Akash: (worried) bhai, I think something is bothering you, would you like to share it with me'(he paused gathered courage and then asked) bhai, is it your sectary khushi that's worrying you
Arnav: (stunned on how he knew but trying to cover up said) uh.. no akash, why would khushi bother me
Akash: bhai sorry, I thought may be your worried about losing the bet
Arnav: loosing the bet!!(he gasped) No way, she is going to lose, I will make sure of that (he said confidently)
Akash: ok bhai, I have full faith in you, but off what I have heard she seems pretty confident too you know
Lavanya: (walked in from behind and interrupted) no way akash, she and win against ASR not possible (she held arnav's hand tightly)
Akash just gave a vague smile
Meanwhile on the other side, khushi was getting her work organized, the clock struck 4:00 pm and she had all work the in place now the only thing she waited for is the shark to arrive' and in a matter of moments he did, he came I like a swif placed himself on the chair, khushi followed, he found his cup on the desk, under a costar, he lifted the cup, placed the cup to his mouth, and inhaled the sip in.. as he tasted his coffee, he put the cup back and let out a sigh, khushi was watching him like a hawk waiting to see what he said, especially because this morning he yelled at her for the coffee being too sweet
Arnav: not bad khushi, looks like u achieved to get my coffee straight
Khushi: (left out a silent sigh) I take my work seriously sir
Arnav: is it the work or the bet (he raised his eyebrow)
Khushi: both' (Pausing she handed him a file) this is your schedule for tomorrow, please can u go through and let me know if changes are required
Arnav took the file glanced through it and then started to read the file
Arnav: right change MR Sessile Brown to 11:00 and put Ms Miranda Barcley to 3 pm that's all (he handed her the file as she took it and left his office)
The day had come to end and khushi was on her way home with naina who was non stop asking her questions
Naina: mom, so how was your day
Khushi: it was rather fine' (she thought for a few seconds and then replied) rather fascinating
Naina: (not knowing what fascinating means she asked) what do you mean by fascinating
Khushi: (smiled and brushed her hair) means interesting
Naina: oh, but why??
Khushi: uh baby i placed a bet with my boss
Naina: A bet!! What bet?
khushi: that I am good with my work,
Naina: why he doesn't like you or what??
Khushi: he is a beast he doesn't like anybody, he is such a' (Thinking for the right word) laad governor (she spat out)
Naina looked confused at her, they reached home and khushi told peter everything, who was shocked and a bit worried for his friend, but in spite of his worry he still boosted her confidence up which made khushi feel strong'.
arnav was back home today, he usually stayed in a separate apartment from his family but today he was back to the Raizada mansion, to visit his di who insisted he must come for dinner, they were on the dining table, he sat with a plateful of food, that his sister kept pouring in
arnav: enough di!!
Anjili: whats wrong with you, u had only 2 chapati's chotte
Arnav: and I am full
Nani: (laughing at the brother and sister) chotte your sister is feeding you so nicely, eat for her sake
Arnav: nani, I am doing exactly that, if it were someone else then I wouldn't have bothered
They all laughed, and then suddenly anjili remembered
Anjili: chotte I heard that today in your office you had a bet with your secretary
Arnav: (looked up) di how do you know
Anjili: (playfully) Scotland yard told me (she chuckled)
Arnav: (frowning) very funny di, tell me how do you know
Anjili: well akash told me
Just then akash and his lovely wife payal walked down the stairs and arnav gave him a look, that payal was confused about
Payal: arnavji whats wrong
Arnav: (looked at her) uh nothing (and then at akash) u told di
Akash: (innocently) I had too, she cornered me
Arnav: uh fine,
Anjili: chottey tell me na, what happened
Arnav: (again frowning) ugh nothing di, I and khushi'.
Anjili: (interrupted with joy) khushi, is that her name.. wow what a pretty name
Arnav: (now annoyed) di !!
Anjili: ok ok tell me
Arnav: so khushi and I had a bet, she thinks that she can last as my secretary and do perfectly well at it, and handle me and I told her that she will not be able to handle the stress, and so we placed a bet its as simple as that
Anjili: wow what a brave girl, it must take courage to step into the lions mouth
Akash: I know di I was shocked when I heard, till date no girl has ever be able to last for so long with bhai as his secretary..
Arnav: akash and nor will this one
Payal: (sweetly) oh come on arnavji, give the poor girl a chance she seems nice
Everyone agreed with her, which irked arnav a lot
