Chapter 81--- we are just good friends

The rest of the trip went of well as they shopped and had fun, and spent loads of time on the beach, naina got busy with building her sand castle her new improved version, arnav and khushi sat on the patio to chill all day in the warm atmosphere of the beach, and at night they would do what every couple in love would do, they would make love to each other, it was truly a good holiday for all of them, but like good things have to come to an end this one also ended, they had to be back in London because school starts on Monday, and hence they returned for their 2 week holiday

There was a bit of progress in anjili’s life as well, she started to loosen up and feel comfortable around ritesh, it felt nice it felt like a burden was off her shoulders, ritesh and Anjili would talk on the phone for hours they would meet for coffee go out for ice cream, they grew close to each other once again, and this put a smile on anjili’s face, even though they use to hang out every day they still claimed to be “just friends” Anjili never wanted to tell anyone anything about her and ritesh becoming close again, she wasn’t sure herself of what was going on,

It was a typical Friday night and Anjili and ritesh had decided to meet at a coffee shop for coffee and desert, this particular coffee shop was owned by AL, it was a famous place that had Spanish coffees and Anjili loved to drink good Spanish coffee so they decided to meet there, that was their new hangout place, but neither of them realized that this particular coffee shop was right next to arnav and khushi’s house, for so many day arnav and khushi were out of town and so the thought of bumping into them at the coffee shop didn’t strike Anjili or ritesh, and on that Friday night without realizing that arnav is back they met at the same place, 

As they walked into the place they went and sat at their regular spot by the corner on the couch, ritesh ordered to Spanish coffees and some hot chocolate cake, and they began chatting

Meanwhile arnav and khushi had reached London on Friday in the evening, a sleepy naina ate her dinner and went to bed, she was tired from all the traveling, arnav was on his laptop and khushi got on to organize the washed and dried clothes, it was around 10 pm when arnav had finished his work and came in the see his wife working, he hugged her from behind and kissed her cheeks and she smiled and said

Khushi: you finished your work

Arnav: yeah just now

Khushi: arnav I am hungry

Arnav: when are you not

Khushi: no really I am hungry, I feel like eating cake

Arnav chuckled at his wife and her food cravings, and then he said

Arnav: lets go down to Al’s and get cake I don’t mind having some coffee as well

Khushi smiled, they locked the house as naina was alone and then they went down for a quick cup of coffee and a slice or warm cake,

When they entered arnav told khushi to grab a spot till he gets the coffees, khushi walked to the corner and was surprised to see Anjili was sitting on the couch and not alone surprisingly with ritesh, her eyes sparkled as she walked up to say hello to her sister in law and her ex husband,

As khushi walked up Anjili was a bit shocked she didn’t expect to get caught and so was ritesh , khushi came and hugged her and said

Khushi: hi di

Anjili: (shocked) hi khushi, how are you how was your trip

Khushi: it was good, we had a lot of fun, (she turned to ritesh and then said) hi jiju

Ritesh: hi khushi, what a pleasant surprise to see you here, are you alone or…

Khushi: arnav is here, we felt like having coffee and cake so we came down,

Ritesh: oh that’s nice 

Arnav came up to where khushi was sitting and as he walked he saw his sister and ritesh, and khushi with them, he too was shocked but from inside he was very happy, he walked up to Anjili and hugged her

Arnav: jiju, di, how nice to see you here,  

Anjili: hi chottey, how was your holiday and how is naina (she tried to divert the attaintion)

Arnav: (smirking) holiday was good di, and naina is fine she enjoyed herself, but di, how come you and jiju are here together??

Anjili started to hesitate and ritesh too was embarrassed on being caught but then he answered

Ritesh: uh actually Anjili and I come here often as she likes the coffee here

Arnav: oh I see, (he paused for a few seconds and then said) come lets all sit

They all sat and had their coffee there was silence and no one spoke a word, arnav was keenly observing his sister and brother in law, khushi on the other hand was trying to control her laughter, arnav decided that he needs to find out whats going on and so he decided to question

Arnav: so jiju, you and di meet often

Ritesh: ya arnav, we do, just for a casual cup of coffee or ice cream

Khushi: that’s nice di, its good you are going out and ENJOYING yourself (she teased her)

Anjili: (became a bit red and then said) so chottey hows everything else going

Arnav: good di, everything is fine, you tell me….

Anjilil: (again hesitating) uh uh,…. Good everything is great (she said with a fumbling smile)

There was silence again, Anjili was now fiddling with her coffee cup ritesh tried to make small conversation with khushi and arnav was just sitting back and keenly observing his sister, and the whole situation….

Arnav: di if you and jiju are meeting regularly that means that you two are planning on reconciling (he asked directly)

On hearing this anjili and ritesh were shocked, Anjili knew this was coming she knew her brother will question her every move so be clear, she just didn’t expect it so quickly

Ritesh: uh arnav actually we are just hanging out

Arnav: (raising his eye brows) hanging out

Anjili: ya chottey what is this, we are just good friends who are meeting for coffee where are you dragging this to (she said casually)

Arnav: (now smirking seeing his poor sister fumble and feel shy) good friends oh I see

Khushi tapped arnav to stop and he took her gesture, she knew Anjili was shy and wouldn’t open up, but she did admit that it was hilarious the way arnav had put both his jiju and di under the scanner and the way he questioned them and off corse their silly answers to cover up

They all had their coffee and cake and then bid farewell and headed home, arnav offered to drop Anjili but ritesh stepped in and said that he would do it..
