Chapter 68 understanding

The next day, arrived, and arnav was looking forward to meeting up with his jijaji, just like old times, khushi noticed her husband had changed a wee bit, in the passed few days he was super tensed about Anjili, but suddenly today he seemed relax for some reason, she wondered why, so she decided to ask him

Khushi: arnav, how is di doing, is she fine

Arnav: ya, I guess

Khushi :(taken aback) you guess, what do you mean by that

She was shocked her husband was a very protective man when it came to his sister, he always had a clue of what she was doing where she was going, how she was feeling, and today all of a sudden he has no idea and he is ok about it, it felt strange she was in deep thought when he said

Arnav: khush she is fine, if there was a problem she would tell me

She nodded and didn't pry the matter further, she handed him the meds and the glass of water, he popped the tablets and gulped the water, then he picked his laptop, care keys, wallet and hanky pecked her on her cheek and left for work,

This was boggling khushi's mind, she was so confused whats wrong with him, he has no clue of his sister, by now on normal circumstances he would explode and bring the whole world down but him being so casual about baffled the hell out of her, she was again interrupted by naina who came running to show her the new drawing she was making

Nani: (she came with a piece of paper in her hand) mom look what I drew

Khushi took her on her lap and then saw the drawing, naina had drawn a princess castle with a boy and girl, khushi cuddled her up, and kissed her cheeks

Khushi: wow, this is beautiful,

Naina: thank you mom,

She forgot about her thought and got busy playing with her daughter,

Meanwhile in the office, arnav was talking to his secretary,

Arnav: at 2:00 Mr ritesh malkhani is coming for a lunch meeting, we will head out to lunch at royal china, I hope the table is confirmed

Secretary: yes sir, I have booked it for 2 people

Arnav: great, make sure no one disturbs us after 2, and shift all my meeting before that, after lunch I am going straight home

Secretary: ok sir,

She went off to do as arnav told her to do,

Time passed by and finally it was 2, ritesh had arrived AR designs, and was walking up to arnav;s cabin, as he entered, arnav greeted him , they then left for the restaurant , they sat and discussed things in general about the business and future developments, arnav told ritesh about khushi and about little naina, ritesh couldn't believe it

Ritesh: omg arnav, so you have become a father

Arnav: (smiling) yes I have,

Ritesh: so how old is she

Arnav: well she is 5, she is khushi's brothers daughter actually, but her brother and his wife died in a car accident and so khushi had taken her responsibility, you know it was because of her we fell in love, she is just adorable jiju, she is a real angle

Ritesh was amazed to see arnav was not as ruthless as before, he had mellowed, this khushi had really soften to man, it was good, he liked to see his brother in law so happy

Ritesh: so you should make me meet them soon, 

Arnav: I defiantly will,

There was a pause in the middle, as both were figuring out how to start the main topic and that was Anjili, finally ritesh spoke

Ritesh: arnav, is Anjili really ok

Arnav: (was happy he had brought the topic up) jiju she is ok from the outside but I know from in she is very sad

Ritesh nodded his head and was frowning this didn't go unnoticed by arnav

Arnav: (he decided to be upfront and ask) jiju, if you don't mind my asking, are you ok

Ritesh looked up at him shocked but then composed himself and said

Ritesh: ya I am fine, I mean what had to happen happened so I have nothing to say about it

Arnav: what actually happened, why did di and u get a divorce

Ritesh: (took a deep breath, he gulped down the glass of water and said) arnav I don't know how but it just happened, I mean,  things got out of control, she said stupid things I said stupid things and the whole thing blew out of proportion and we had to call it off (he said in a soft but sad tone)

Arnav: but you two loved each other so much, I don't understand

Ritesh: arnav, u what u just got marrid and for you its all new, trust me there will be one point where you only fight with your partner on stupid things it happens in every relationship, it just depends on how you handle it

Arnav: jiju, I know that trust me, before khushi and I fought like cats and dogs, and I would lash out on her all the time and she would do the same, so I know what you talking about, but what I want to ask you is that, (he took a deep breath and then decided to finally ask him) given a chance would you like to mend the relationship with di

Ritesh: (was shocked, how did arnav know, he just spoke exactly what was in his mind, but he had to still be subtle to understand his brother in laws intentions) arnav!!, you know what your asking right

arnav : yes I do jiju, I know what I am saying, I am asking you whether you want to get back with di again, (arnav said boldly)

ritesh:  is that what Anjili wants, is that what you want

arnav: what di wants and doesn't is secondary at this point, I want to know is that what you want, do you want to marry my sister again

ritesh: (now not worried, he knew what he wanted and he knew if he never spoke now then it would be too late so he said) yes this is what I want, I want to marry your sister again, (he said confidently) I love her more than anything, and life without her was hell,

on hearing this arnav had a smile on his face and he was sure glad that this is what ritesh wanted, because he knew that his sister wanted the same thing, and he knew that this is where they both belong, he finally said

arnav:  that's good to know jiju, I am happy that you want this (he said with a soft voice) so whats the plan how you going to win her back

ritesh: I have no idea, I mean I am still working on it,

arnav: ok don't worry, you have my support (he said with a smirk) we will figure something out

ritesh nodded with surprise, feeling light hearted, they were leaving the restaurant, ritesh was going back home and arnav was going to khushi, but before leaving he told ritesh

arnav: jiju

ritesh: yea

arnav: its good to have you back

ritesh smiled at him, and then both the boys took off to their destinations
